People from around the world have visited Ran Horn’s Gallery in Van Horn, Texas, and many have taken home his reproductions of Vincent Van Gogh’s paintings. Randell Horn bills his place as “Texas’ only Van Gogh Gallery.” His paintings are not machine made or assembly-line knock-offs’ He paints them real oil on real canvas with real stretcher bars.
He enjoys painting the works of Van Gogh lovingly stroke by stroke. He began his life-long quest to reproduce on canvas all of Vincent’s paintings shortly after the Mall of America opened in Bloomington, Minnesota. A gallery in that mall had many reproductions of the great masters. Ran thought, “I can do this! However, not machine-made prints, but the real deal!”
Many of Vincent’s most famous paintings are in the 30” x 36” dimension (such as “The Starry Night,” “Sunflowers,” “Irises,” “Cypress”) and Ran can paint one for you framed and shipped for $500 total. A smaller version in the 24” x 30” dimension can be done for $350 total. Many of Vincent’s portraits and self-portraits are in the 20” x 24” dimension and Ran can do one for you for $250 total. Paintings in the 16” x 20” range can be had for $150 total.
Ran also enjoys doing large compositions with many of Vincent’s images worked in as seen in “Vincent’s Gallery.” The original is 4’ x 5,’ and prints of it are 22” by 28”, signed and numbered, for $20 each total, or 5 for $80 total. Some of Ran’s other compositions are: “Vincent’s Parlor,” “Vincent’s Flower Shop,” “Joe Camel’s Autopsy,” “The Roulin Family at Meal,” “Gauguin’s Bedroom,” “Cinco de Mayo at the Alamo,” “Starry Night Memories” and “Vincent at the Night Cafe.”
