Eagle thinclads come home with three 1st Place honors from Pecos Meet By Larry D Simpson - The Van Horn Eagle track team ran in the Pecos Invitational last weekend and faced stiff competition from 1A to 4A schools. Coach Luis Garcia reported that his thinclads competed very well and brought home several honors. He was especially proud of the 4 x 100 Meter Relay team for placing 1st in Pecos. Shown below is how the Van Horn Eagles placed at Pecos: 4 x 100 Meter Relay: The team of JJ Baca, Ricky Ramirez, Alex Baca and Leo Hapeman took 1st Place honors with a time of 44.34 seconds. 100 Meter Dash: Ricky Ramirez took 1st Place with a time of 11.11 seconds. 200 Meter Dash: Ricky Ramirez took 1st Place with a time of 23.08 seconds. JJ Baca took 5th Place with a time of 24.99 seconds. Discus: Jermanicus Stanford took 6th Place with a toss of 110’ 10 1/2”. Shotput: Jermanicus Stanford took 4th Place with a throw of 40’ 10”. The Eagle track team is idle this week due to spring break.
